By design, metrics aren’t automatically enabled by default in Lightup. Instead, metrics must be turned on or enabled, offering full control of metric configurations, while mitigating unexpected query computation costs.
With advancements in AI and Data Quality automation, we’re excited to announce that Lightup now supports plug-and-play Auto Metrics for metadata with our latest new feature: Zero-Config.
Zero-Config eliminates tedious clicks and repetitive configuration tasks for Auto Metrics, helping you increase efficiency and productivity.
Now, instead of manually configuring each metadata Auto Metric and monitor for your tables, Zero-Config does it for you, automatically. Simply connect Lightup to your data source and get instant metadata insights for tables — without adding extra clicks or manual configuration steps to your workflow.
TL;DR: With Zero-Config, Auto Metrics for metadata are now fully automated, with out-of-the-box simplicity. No clicks. No configuration. No kidding.
What Is Zero-Config?
Zero-Config is a new feature that allows you to work smarter by automatically turning on Auto Metrics for tables in Lightup. By default, Zero-Config will be enabled in Lightup so you’ll automatically get metadata insights from day one.
For all tables under enabled schemas, Lightup will automatically monitor these Auto Metrics: Byte Count, Column Activity, and Update Delay.
More Data Quality Automation and AI Ahead
The release of Zero-Config is just the beginning of more new automated features and AI capabilities coming to Lightup in 2025.
This year, Lightup will continue to expand our breadth of features to support more Data Quality automation for deep Data Quality metrics and more.
More to come soon, stay tuned…
